Lars & Gretchen – lineart

I’ve been doing anything but drawing for quite a long time, if we don’t consider random sketches here and there, quick doodles that never took me more than 2 minutes to do (my instagram account has plenty of them). I love sketching down stuff, but there’s one thing that’s much more fun to do: linearts.

I’d spend hours doing linearts, and sometimes I do.

I spent the last couple days drawing a new portrait of two characters of my book, The World Below, which is written at 5%, optimistic percentage. Lars and Gretchen have been best friends since they were 5 years old, and in the book they work together for a military body called Nova Angeli.

What does Nova Angeli do? I’ll explain that in another post.

[If it looks like his face is more realistic than hers, is because I managed to figure out his traits later and I still have to study them to stylize his face more. This is a modified version of the original, where he looked real ugly and totally unlike I imagine him]

Sometimes I think of myself as a discordian relativist natural pantheist, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'm an old girl in a malfunctioning shell, sometimes I'm an ill-educated philosopher, sometimes I'm a scholar in early modern history. Sometimes I'm a graphic designer, sometimes I'm a writer, sometimes I'm a company administrator, sometimes I'm a curious animal, sometimes I'm a misanthropist, sometimes I'm a good friend. One thing is sure: I'm not the same thing all the time.
